Today we were very fortunate to have the helping hands of  Girl Scout Troop 4335-Moxy Rigby Center from Freeport, NY.  These girls, along with their leaders and adult helpers, came eager and ready to help.  Always enthusiastically jumping into any task , they were a vital part to serving our clients.  Whether it was preparing shower kits, sorting clothes, handing out food items or serving our clients lunch , this group was ready for the challenge.  They even had coordinating outfits!  Well done girls- Much thanks to these fantastic little ladies, adult helpers  and their wonderful  leaders Camella Warren- Weiss and Juakina Martin !

Living Faith Christian Church Youth Group Lends a helping hand

Ladles of Hope gets a visit from some very helpful youth.

Today we had a visit from an extraordinary group of young men and women led by Steven Kinsel fro the Living Faith Christian Church.
Each member of the group jumped right in helping in both the clothing distribution room and in the dining hall and kitchen.  What was truly amazing was that they were in the middle of a 32 hour fast to become more aware for period of time how it truly feels to be hungry.
It was an amazing connection for them to be doing their fast while actually helping those who are homeless and in need of food and some human interaction.
The group made their presence felt as they helped people find some pants, sweaters and other clothing.  They then helped with the kitchen area and made there way throughout the dining room to interact with our clients.
Living Faith Christian Church has much to be proud of in the way that their young ambassadors carried themselves in the quest to help others and we look forward to hopefully more visits

The Young Vincentians came packed with energy and good will

St. Frances de Chantal's  Young Vincentians group  has made many visits to assist long island's homeless and needy at  Faith Mission over the years.

The Young Vincentian's always bring their helping hands and wonderful enthusiasm.  This group has been critical each year by supplying  us with many used coats and sweaters that they collect at their annual parish coat drive.  The Young Vincentians got the satisfaction of seeing the very coats  they have collected find a useful purpose in the life of someone who needs one.  Along  with bringing coats this year, the Young Vincentians also helped assemble shower supply kits, as well as helped prepare and serve the day's meals.

We all want to thank The Young Vincentians for their continued support of Faith Mission.
